A TV wedding for “rhubarb” food design
Four Weddings has been one of the most successful programmes ever aired on the UK Living Channel. And in early August “rhubarb” was proud to be the caterer for one of the weddings featured on the programme – that of Gary Cockerill and Phil Turner.
The fabulously extravagant wedding theme was a Midsummer Night’s Dream, and as guests entered the grounds of Syon House in West London they found pixies frolicking in the bushes, frisky fairies cartwheeling on the lawns and giant peacocks parading on stilts. Guests included Jennifer Ellison, Emma B, Melinda Messenger, Katie Price and Linda Bar The wedding party marvelled at some of “rhubarb’s” most incredible canapés (such as Scottish beef and foie gras with peach and tarragon jelly) which were served on mini chaise longues and in antique birdcages. And the three course dinner menu featured twice baked aged gruyère soufflé with summer truffles; seabass fillet with globe artichokes; and a trio of puddings – chocolate fondant, blackberry eton mess, and mini summer pudding.
