Great news for all ambitious food and hospitality aficionados: an exciting opportunity to join “rhubarb’s” team has recently opened!

We are currently recruiting for number of positions at one of our busiest restaurants: Gallery Mess at the Saatchi Gallery. We are looking for new staff members including waiters and bartenders to support our team in the busy Easter and Summer period. We offer casual positions with a competitive salary and the opportunity to gain invaluable work experience whilst working for Caterer of the Year.

If you have gained previous working experience in waitressing and bartending please visit us during one of the upcoming open days at Gallery Mess. We will be conducting interviews from 8am – 10am on 29th February, 13th March and 4th April, however we do advise to choose the earliest date possible!

Candidates are required to bring two copies of an up-to-date CV and original passport/ ID card or Visa documents. Positions are available immediately and we will be looking for candidates to commence employment quickly.

In a recent article (Monday 20th February) about food trends, the Evening Standard discussed the rise of marshmallows as the new macaroon.

“rhubarb” is featured as the journalist mentions our use of marshmallow skewers during events. The sweet canapé, infused with vanilla seed and covered in freeze-dried strawberry powder is indeed very popular. The beautiful pyramid display it usually is presented in adds a touch of luxury to this lovely dish!  We have also created fresh raspberry marshmallows rolled in raspberry crackling dust and hand passed on silver lacquer trays as well as designed beautiful dessert stations that feature handmade marshmallows with melted couverture chocolate to dip into.

Cafe Consort is a popular destination with visitors to the Royal Albert Hall and the local area. Bright and modern it creates a distinctive atmosphere of an elegant theatre restaurant whilst remaining relaxed and accessible. It is renowned for its fabulous food which is prepared with the finest ingredients and imaginatively designed dishes. The restaurant has just launched a new menu which is available all day from 10am until close.

Featuring modern British food it comprises of delicious classics with a contemporary twist such as venison sausages with bubble and squeak and cranberry sauce, game terrine, double-baked cheese soufflé and steak and spitfire Ale pie, freshly prepared by our culinary team. For desserts, guests can choose from a wide selection of homemade cakes and pastries.

This lovely canapé is inspired by the orient using Korean cucumber kimchee and Japanese dashi. These create an intense and luxurious flavour that is light and surprising. Served on an elegant silver spoon this canapé is perfect for sophisticated parties and can be perfectly matched with our wide selection of wines.

“rhubarb”  are proud to announce its involvement in this years Mint Polo in the Park taking place between 8th – 10th June 2012.

For a third year running, Mint Polo in the Park will be attracting high profile polo players and teams from around the world to compete in this high octane, fast moving and dynamic sport for the ultimate prize - the MINT Trophy. The sporting event attracts a glamorous crowd of spectators and international media.

This unique tournament will be hosted at Hurlingham Park in West London. Working alongside City Events, “rhubarb” will be supplying bespoke catering and hospitality packages allowing guests to indulge in delicious food and drink whilst enjoying this spectacular sporting event.

 Guests will be able to choose between the ‘Pukka Picnic’, ‘Cool Britannia Tea’ and ‘Gourmet BBQ’ packages as well as first class private entertaining located pitch side in the corporate enclosure.

KIDS is a national charity working with disabled children, young people and their families across England. KIDS' vision is a world in which all disabled children and young people realise their aspirations and their right to an inclusive community which supports them and their families. 

The KIDS Annual Gala will be taking place on Thursday 1st of March 2012 at 7:30 pm at the stylish Jerwood Hall, LSO St Luke's. This glamorous evening will include a reception, magnificent three course dinner catered by "rhubarb' and will feature a special classical performance by the world-renowned violinist Nicola Benedetti and friends.

Another delicious recipe from “rhubarb’s” culinary team!

Known for their flair for innovation and redesigning classic dishes, this time our chefs have created a sophisticated reinterpretation of a kebab.

This inspiring new canapé is a lovely little mouthful of delectable flavours. Soft and juicy chicken served on a skewer with fresh red onion and cucumber, topped with harrisa and crisp pita shards is sure to impress due to its elegance and flavoursome taste.
