"rhubarb's" Environmental and Sustainability Policy is in development, constantly changing with new technology and our own research into the materials, resources and services available to us.
We work with the industry renowned ecOevent policy, which is supported by The Eden Project’s Waste Neutral Programme. This offers a tangible and credible format by which the environmental impact of an event can be monitored and improved. The ecOevent policy centres on an event’s waste management, with the aim to become Waste Neutral (when the amount of recycled or reused resources brought into the event is equal or greater than the amount of waste sent away to landfill). Whilst the standard is still in its developmental stages, we can also produce an event to BS8901 accreditation (Environmental Event Management), should the client desire.
"rhubarb" use an environmental consultancy business that is BS8901 compliant, and is soon to be accredited. They oversee and audit the environmental impact and sustainability of our events, throughout the planning, delivery and post event stages. In close conjunction with them we are working on improving and restructuring our:
• Carbon footprint reduction • Waste management • Energy and water consumption management • Reducing, re-using, recycling and reinvesting • Minimising transportation • Sourcing local produce and sustainable MSC certified fish
