The Banqueting House
London's hidden masterpiece, a magnificent Classical Building designed by Inigo Jones, completed in 1622, with a ceiling by Rubens and centrally located in the heart of Westminster There are two areas at the Banqueting House. The first is the splendid Main Hall with its perfect double cube proportions topped by the priceless Rubens ceiling consisting of nine canvases depicting the life and times of James I. This is the setting for sumptuous dinners, concerts and receptions. The Undercroft is an atmospheric candlelit area which is presented much as in James I's time. This provides the perfect reception space for events in the Main Hall. It also provides an enchanting space for small dinners and cocktail parties.
