“rhubarb” Caters for the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2010
Written by rhubarb editor   | 19 April 2010

The World's 50 Best Restaurants and Chefs catered by The S.Pellegrino World's 50 Best Restaurants 2010 will be announced at London’s Guildhall on Monday 26th April.

The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2010 is the result of an extensive poll of the world’s most celebrated chefs, renowned food critics, leading restaurateurs and well-travelled gourmands. This year the awards organisers are expecting their highest turnout yet and the magnificent surroundings of the Guildhall in the heart of the city of London are perfect for the grand occasion.

Last year, Spain’s El Bulli was at the Number One spot, with the UK’s very own Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck at Number 2, so who knows what might happen this year!

“rhubarb” will be creating canapés for the Awards reception and for the Awards after party. Not only will we therefore be feeding the world’s most revered and celebrated chefs, but we will also be looking after some of the most important people in the world’s food industry too. Approximately 200 journalists alone are expected at the awards, and another 200 chefs and restaurateurs…so no pressure then team!

With his finger absolutely on the pulse of what’s happening in the food and restaurant scene, he is quite a force to be reckoned with. We asked Phil what he thought we should all be looking forward to food-wise in 2010.

“Tasting plates and tapas style eating are still a really strong trend in 2010. And taking that one step further, I would venture as far as to say that this year is going to be the year of the canapé bar, with maybe some long awaited rotisserie restaurants and seafood bars too…
